Head of the Electrical Department of the Higher Technical Institute in Er-Riyadh, Saudi-Arabia, from 1973 to 1978, the International Labour Organisation in 1984 called me to assist for a similar Institute in planning. So I joined them until 1990.
Starting with training centres in Nepal and Ethiopia I fairly smooth became involved in the complete process of planning for and equipping of training institutes. The picture shows a public bid opening at ILO´s premise in Geneva, chaired by me as the chief procurement advisor (centre of the board), handling the first part of a 240 Mill US$ World Bank project.
